Welcome back to me and everyone else who cares to read about my teaching adventures!
After a great long summer break of working at Kids Klub, which I LOVE, I have been back at school...final semester people! So 2 weeks of classes, well just 5, and now I am back into teaching!
This time around I am teaching at Oak Bay High Secondary School! I will be taking on one social studies 9, two social studies 11 and two history 12! WHOA!!!! There is a lot of work to be done!
I spent yesterday at the schools Pro-D day. Fun! Learned some things, experienced the tension between teachers and administrators!
Today I taught my first class at Oak Bay. And today was the first time I have ever been close to tears. That never happened once during my 5 weeker! Anyways I have beaten the story to death with my in laws, but needless to say I was thrown to the wolves without any kind of planning and expected to mark presentations. I suppose in the end is was OK because I didn't cry and Mr. B stepped in for me. Now I am done re-living that moment!
3 P's...Prepared, Pretend, Presentation...that is what my mother-in-law came up with tonight. The 3 P's...all I need to remember about teaching!
